This campaign represents more than just a product launch. While most consumers recognize the importance of UV protection, there remains a significant knowledge gap about the multiple environmental factors affecting skin health on a daily basis.

Our approach matters for three key reasons:

This educational component helps consumers understand not just what the product does, but why comprehensive protection matters for long-term skin health.

Elevating skincare from beauty to health: The campaign strategically positions UV protection as an essential health measure rather than merely a beauty ritual. This shift aligns with the growing consumer preference for products that deliver both immediate cosmetic benefits and long-term health protection.

Creating cross-market brand consistency: Developing a campaign that maintains core brand positioning while adapting to Western market preferences demonstrates how global brands can achieve the balance between consistency and relevance. 

In an increasingly crowded skincare market, this campaign succeeds by translating complex science into compelling storytelling while maintaining an authentic connection to everyday life.

Artistry tasked us with creating a Western market campaign for their UV50 product that would maintain the established "Shield Your Skin from Every Angle" positioning while making it more relatable to Western audiences. The UV50 product represented more than just another sunscreen – it was the crucial fifth step in Artistry's comprehensive Skin Nutrition system, providing protection against multiple environmental aggressors beyond just UV rays.

The brief required us to:

  • Introduce the new Skin Nutrition SPF50 to Western markets with compelling insights, benefits, and reasons to believe

  • Re-promote the entire Skin Nutrition line, positioning UV50 as an essential daily step

  • Create assets that would resonate with their target audience of health-conscious beauty consumers

  • Visually communicate how the product protects skin from UV rays, pollution, free radicals, blue light, and infrared light

  • Evolve the existing East market campaign with a more Western aesthetic approach

Creative Solution

Core Creative Concept

Our approach centered around two key insights:

  1. The invisible becomes visible: Using specialized camera technology to reveal skin damage that's invisible to the naked eye

  2. Protection from multiple threats: Demonstrating how Artistry UV50 creates a shield against various environmental aggressors

We developed a multi-faceted campaign that blended lifestyle content, CG animation, with scientific visualization, allowing us to show both the everyday relevance of the product and its protective technology.

Unique Production Elements

  • Custom UV Camera Technology: We built and retrofitted a specialized camera to capture only UV light, revealing skin damage invisible to the naked eye. This allowed us to visually demonstrate both existing skin damage and the protective power of the Artistry UV50 product in real-time – creating compelling before/after content that educated consumers about the importance of skin protection.

  • CGI Integration: We created sophisticated 3D animations to visualize the "shield" concept, showing how different ingredients in the product (Zinc Oxide, Titanium Dioxide, Chrysanthemum, and Nutrilite Pomegranate) work together to form a multi-layered protective barrier against various environmental aggressors. This helped translate complex scientific benefits into visually engaging storytelling.

  • Hybrid Production Approach: To maximize efficiency and ensure cohesion across all assets, we conducted simultaneous video and photography capture during production. This approach allowed us to create a library of assets that maintained a consistent look and feel while optimizing production resources.

PRODUCTION HIGHLIGHTS

The most challenging aspect of the project was balancing the scientific and lifestyle elements of the campaign. We needed to educate consumers about the technology behind the product while also showing its relevance to everyday life.

Our solution was a dual-narrative approach:

  1. The Hero Video showcased diverse individuals in different environments (home, outdoors, office, beach) using the product, interspersed with CGI sequences demonstrating the protective technology

  2. The UV Exposure Video provided a more direct demonstration of the product's effectiveness through the specialized UV camera technology

The in-studio UV camera demonstrations yielded unexpectedly powerful reactions from participants. When people saw their skin under UV light for the first time – revealing damage they never knew existed – their genuine surprise and concern created authentic, emotional moments. These unscripted reactions became a centerpiece of our social content, creating relatable and shareable moments that reinforced the product's value proposition.

RESULTS + IMPACT

The final campaign successfully translated the "Shield Your Skin" positioning for Western markets while maintaining brand consistency with the East market campaign. The comprehensive asset package included:

Hero Video (60 seconds): Featuring a diverse cast demonstrating product usage across multiple environments, integrated with CGI animation visualizing the protective properties

UV Exposure Video (45-60 seconds): Showcasing real people's reactions to seeing their skin under UV light and demonstrating the product's protective qualities

Social Content: Vertical format videos optimized for each platform, including a "Get Ready With Me" routine video demonstrating the product as part of a complete skincare regimen

Photography Library: 30+ lifestyle and product images showcasing the product in use across various contexts and skin tones
